A Proven Strategy to Crack the Exam by an aspirant who succeed in exam
Here we are sharing a story that proves one thing: you don’t need coaching classes to succeed in government exams—you just need determination, consistency, and the right resources. we hope this story inspires you to believe in yourself.
We are excited to share the inspiring success story of a dedicated aspirant who achieved success without any coaching in SSC CGL. Here I refer to the person who succeeded in the exam.
I graduated with a B.COM in Computers, but like many of you, I had my doubts when I first decided to prepare for government exams. My knowledge was limited, and I had no idea where to start. Here’s where I stood before my preparation:
Maths: As a commerce graduate, I wasn’t great at math. Many people assume all commerce students can not excel in maths, but that’s not always true. We have to work just as hard as anyone else to get back on track.
English: Despite my schooling in English medium, I struggled with the language. I didn’t even know the basics, That’s how weak my foundation was.
General Awareness: My initial knowledge of general awareness was nearly non-existent. In my first attempt at the Tier-I exam, I scored just 6 marks!
Reasoning: Before my preparation, I had never even touched reasoning. However after looking at past papers, I realized that with some effort, I could do well in this section.
The Turning Point
My first attempt at the exam was far from successful; I didn’t clear Tier I. But this failure didn’t discourage me—it motivated me to give my best. I decided that I wouldn’t leave anything to chance in my second attempt. This time, I was serious.
How I Prepared
Instead of signing up for coaching, I decided to use standard books and online resources:
For Maths, I relied on books for concepts and YouTube for the chapters which are not understandable to me.
For English, I turned to *SP Bakshi* and supplemented my learning with online resources. I also improved my vocabulary by reading editorials and sports pages from the *Times of India*, which I found immensely helpful. For the Grammer part, I refer Neetu Singh madam book
For Reasoning, I focused on understanding the types of questions that appeared in past exams. I practiced these until I was confident.
For General Awareness, despite it being my weakest area, I kept working at it and focused on other areas where I could score higher. We have many resources for this section but we have to stick to one reliable source which is comfortable to us.
My Strategy
I made topic-wise notes for difficult sections in English, Maths, and Reasoning. I focused on areas where I was weak and turned them into my strengths. I stuck to my study plan, my notes, and my books. I didn’t take any shortcuts. I also solved selective test series papers and analyzed my mistakes thoroughly.
The Result
With this approach, I scored 142 marks in Tier I. I achieved my goal and was selected as an Excise Inspector.
